Company Background
KCI Enterprises, Inc., was founded by the Koukoulis family and has been involved in aviation since its inception. The Koukoulis family through KCI and an affiliate company have been providing aviation services at
North Central West Virginia Airport for over
fifty-six years. KCI executive management has been involved in airline ownership and management, aircraft sales, pilot training, computer leasing, and the development of special type certifications for aircraft modifications issued by the FAA.
Refueling and Flight Support
KCI Aviation is a dealer for AvFuel aviation fuels and provides aircraft refueling and flight support services. The company offers flight crews and passengers a comfortable terminal facility. A flight planning room with DUAT and DTN satellite weather gives flight crews access to all the information they need to plan and execute their missions. Galley supplies and catering requests are arranged by KCI staff and available from a variety of nearby restaurants. KCI's has a fuel contract with the United States Department of Defense. The company refuels aircraft operated by the Army National Guard Eastern Training Wing located at North Central West Virginia Airport as well as transient military aircraft. KCI also provides fueling services to Bombardier and USAirways Express.
Aircraft Maintenance
KCI Aviation aircraft maintenance department, an FAA approved repair station, holds authority as a Class I and III airframe repair facility and as a Class I engine facility. Its service capability covers virtually all piston powered aircraft and most light turboprop and light jet aircraft.
Flight Training
The company's flight training program is quite extensive. The FAA approved Pilot School is the West Virginia's most complete with ab-initio training through private and commercial pilot. Instrument, certified flight instructor, certified flight instructor instrument, multi-engine and multi-engine flight instructor ratings round out the program for a complete professional pilot training package.
KCI's pilot training offerings are also geared toward the more casual flight programs. Many local individuals who seek pilot training for recreational, personal and business purposes learn at KCI. KCI Aviation's facility incorporates 22,500 sq ft of hangar space and 9,000 sq ft of office and operations space. The hangar was built for the
North Central West Virginia Airport Authority and KCI leases it from the Authority.
